Hi, I would be really grateful for some help. On Saturday (5 days ago) my hotfile account developed a problem. I was trying to remote upload some files, but they failed. When I investigated I found I couldn't log into my hotfile account. I checked their news pages, and it said there was a problem with some premium accounts, but later it said the problems were fixed. I still can't log into my account, and a request for my password results in an "email not found in our database" error. I've sent several emails to hotfile support without getting a reply. I know hotfile wont reply to emails concerning accounts that they think are hacked, but I'm sure mine isn't one of those. It has a secure password (known only to myself) and the email associated with the hotfile account hadn't been tampered with or received any emails about changed passwords etc. (The email account also has a secure password known only to me.) Also, I think that the circumstances around the login in failure (my remote uploading coupled with hotfiles problems) may point towards a technical issue rather than anything else. How long does it take hotfile to respond? I have 2 sites losing visitors because I can't add new content until this is fixed. Thanks
Ok, hows this for wierd. 20 mins ago I got an email from hotfile.....thanking me for requesting a new password, giving me a different username than the one i logged in with, and a new pass. I logged in with those details - and its my account. The paypal info was for someone else, so it looks like it was a hack, and i lost a months pay.....but I can live with that. How can the hotfile details be changed without me receiving some sort of notification? And how can hotfile refuse to acknowledge emails concerning accounts that they think are hacked, when theres no provision for a secure https login?? Anyway - many thanks to HF for actually fixing things for me
I have very bad experience with HF, and know at least 2 others people like me (from WJ). The difference is I do warn others people and aggressively do about this (notify PayPal and Credit Card companies BankOfAmerica and Chase, and CitiBank). My case: I purchased 1 year premium account HF, one week after, I downloaded lots of stuff (~ 100GB) on just one day on a VPS (I have 2 IPs: one from my home USA and one VPS in Germany). I never download at the same time from 2 IPs. Then I received an email said that my account was suspended. I have 1.2 TB in that account. I tried to contact them at least 5+ times but no responds at all. After that, I learn that many users like me, cannot contact customer service support if they got problems. namdatviet
