From what i remember in order to upgrade your account you must sell some premium accounts.
I mean some of the users that come to hotfile from your link must buy a premium account.

    a) Stop uploading for a few days... Hotfile looks at your upload vs download ratio.

    b) Ensure that you only have Hotfile links in your posts, this will give the downloaders more incentive to actually buy a premium account from hotfile, vs rapidshare, vs megaupload, vs etc etc. Your status will jump when people buy premium accounts. This is the main way that it will jump. Don't be surprised when it starts dropping the next day after it has gone up...

The only issue I have with HF is that they don't actually 'tell' you how many premium accounts have been sold from your links or if they were 1 month, 6 month or 1 year accounts....

The most important thing - Sell more premium accounts!

Your rank will go up even if you upload 20GB a day if you sell a lot of premium accounts!

    Straight from the Hotfile Website:

Has absolutely nothing to do with mass-uploading, as this will actually hurt you if you can't promote all that.

What converts well, is that you give a large selection of a certain download to people. In other words, you give them an entire series, rather than a single download. If they see 20-50 downloads for a given topic, many people don't have the patience to wait the 30 minutes per file delay and buy a premium account....

I have been plotting the Hotfile stats on an hour by hour basis for the last month.... If I upload 1-2 GB of files, my status will go down 1% almost immediately and will sink another 5-10% by the next day, even though I have 800-1000 downloaders consistently (and most of the files are >100MB).... then the status will suddenly jump by 100 (when someone buys a premium account).... unfortunately right after that (next day), the status will start sinking rather quickly.... 10-20% a day...

their system is really confusing :) Does anybody know if they also count free account signups in their ranking system?

    i dont think so

i think its just premium accounts bought

or else every1 would just make 100s of free accounts and have a 100% platinum rank all the time

go back to rapidshare you will make more money, i've tried it and rapidshare makes me way more - they seem to count more of the download and also pay a decent amount for premiums.

If you can sell premiums enough to get platinum at hofile then image if you went with some of the companies that pay 50% of the premium to you? if you can't sell premiums then still rapidshare makes you more i'm pretty sure.

ugotfile is another i've heard of but have not tested, looks promising though if you can get referals.

hotfile was ok before the ranking system - forget it now and get back to rapidshare or if you can sell a lot of premiums look elsewhere. If rapidshare would pay via paypal and fast then it would be even better.

I use Hotfile and I am a platinum member. It's not about the amount you upload to your account, it's more about the more downloads you get with a lesser amount of uploads. Hotfile want to make as much money, without using too much storage space and this is the best way for them to do it.

Seems like you need to be spreading your links to better places than you are at the moment.
