As I predicted, HotFile is dying. Here is a graph of its traffic from 2009 until today. It is clear they are losing traffic and it started exactly when they were forced to close the "bad" accounts and remove the "illegal" files. Few more months and the site won't be profitable. If it isn't already... If you have never got a DMCA complaint, of course HotFile won't close your account. This measure is taken on accounts with multiple DMCA complaint. I don't know how many complaints is necessary to have the account closed. Unfortunately, HotFile accepts any complaint. Even if the person who sent the complaint is not the copyright holder nor person acting on his behalf. You are right. It is not a scam. I earned a couple hundreds of dollars with them. But with the new rules, it is really hard to make some money. Nobody wants to download a video of my dog running after a butterfly.
