The hottest topic for a blog is anything you can muster up. Topics which matter to you. Every category of a blog has an audience. The best blogs are those that are not censored or driven by financial reasons, corporate power, or for some other reason. Those driven by pure ingenuity, dedication, and for the purpose of just sharing thoughts, views, opinions, knowledge and experiences are the best blogs. A blog should be your voice which you share with the world. Professional blogs should be written in an enticing manner as if to grab the attention of the reader while feeding their interest. Personal blogs should be written as if you are writing in a diary or journal.

If you have a target audience or niche market then it makes your blogging more easier. If you update your blog daily then it makes your blog more useful and more powerful. Updating daily and using RSS/XML feeds to publish your blog will eventually make it more popular. It takes an average person (non-writer) time to get use to blogging and to update a blog daily. Make a goal to write at least 1 entry a day or every other day. It will more than likely be at least 1 year or more before your blog gains any real traffic, but if updated regularly within 1 year you can look back at all previous entries and smile to yourself....(if nothing else). Once your blog gains momentum you may want to begin another blog focusing on another niche or industry...or maybe the same but just a different blog. You also may want to begin hosting your own blog if you have a great amount of traffic.

Your intial goal should not be to make money, if you do make money along the way that would be nice. But your intial objective for starting a blog should be to share your thoughts, views, opinions, knowledge, and experiences with readers. A sincere and geniune blog is always the best. Once you begin receiving a good amount of traffic then you should begin thinking about making money with self-advertising and other medias.

Hope this helps! Best of luck.

What are your hobbies/interests? What can you talk about for an hour without preparation?

The answers to those questions (should) define the topic of your blogs.

Like TOPS30 stated it must be a topic you can write about. If you plan to copy/paste topics from news sources and other sources then that really doesn't define a blog. Because a blog is your knowledge and experiences...not of someone else. Publishing from other sources would be more of an article center or hub. To grab content for your blog...just write...don't think about anything just begin writing and flow with it. Take it from there.

    Khushal,

I just looked at your blog "Adsense for Bloggers" and it seems you are on the right track. That blog is perfectly fine. I didn't read through the content but I did browse and it all looks fine. You already have your niche (Adsense) so all you need to do is continue to write about topics pertaining or relating to Adsense.

For popularity, just continue to update your blog everyday and add it to as many blog directories as you can. Try to submit to at least 2 blog directories a day and do link backs if required. And the fastest way to grow popularity is by submitting you RSS/XML feed every time you add a new entry. Ping-O-Matic is a good place to submit your RSS feed. Submitting your feed to as many feed publishers should be done everyday after you have added a new entry...that is important! You should also use tags.

Updating regularly also pushing you to the front in the queue of sites where the 'next blog' clicks go to. I always see a big spike in traffic for an hour or so afer publishing a new post. If your AdSense is near the 'next blog' button, you might catch a few of those and convert into clicks.

I always encourage people to come up with unique and fresh ideas, something that gets people's attention. If you cannot come up with something for yourself and are mainly in it for the traffic, maybe one of your friends can give you some ideas.
