Hi, i have bought dedicated server. There problem that i am facing now is the there is too much load on apache and mysql. my apache version is 3xx and mysql version is 5 every day at peak hours my server just go down and i have to restart it. the support at my server told my that i should increase the ram or optimize the server to solve this problem. Please help me optimize my server. i have read this thread too http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=23044 but i can't follow this step. cause there are no such settings in my httpd.conf file.
Normally I would suggest adding them to the file but I've never heard of them not being in there. Can you copy and paste your httpd.conf file somewhere as a text and provide a link please? Something's not right. Your server specs (ie memory, processor, os, etc.) and the specific versions of Apache and MySQL that you are running would also be helpful.
Fo Best performance in MYSQL: Edit my.cnf : Login via SSH to your server and: vi /etc/my.cnf Then you will somewhere this: max_connections = 100 Change the connections as you want Hope it helps
