I have way too many projects going right now and one of my favorite sites is not getting the attention it needs, so I reluctantly will be selling my baby. One thing to realize is I started a new, very successful (100,000 visitor a day, 17,000 alexa in 4 months) website in March.

You will notice that all advertising and revenue dropped off at that point and I haven't updated nearly as regularly since then... Reason for this is simple... I got a partner and moved all resources to the new site... So what you see the last 3 months is without any promotion... What you saw before is what is possible... Basically the last 3 months is profit/traffic if you don't do anything but update the site on occasion.

I have proof for everything here except much of the CPM networks. We switched companies 2 months ago because of a security breach at a past company which allowed their data to be hacked, so we switched companies at that point and closed the account with the old CPM provider. We actually made more with the last company (and if it's a huge deal, I can probably dig up the checks they sent, etc. as proof), but I based the numbers off what we would have gotten with the new company (which is $1.25 CPM). There is also room to add much more advertising to the site, as we only have 2 banners and a pop-under.

The site has not been banned from AdSense. It is on the site now and still making very good money. The present ad formation (with the 300x250 at the top of the page) has been there for a couple months now and does well.

Another quick note... The site has been on the first page in Google for the very competitive key phrase "funny videos" and is optimized both on and off site for this phrase (and several others). With some TLC I would imagine you will be able to get and maintain a high SERP for this and many other terms with a PR 5 and TONS of nice backlinks. I built this site to be my own money maker, so you will see that everything was done for that purpose.

when does this auction end? Why is it that you say that you get free traffic but you use up to $300 on advertising per month which is a lot of budget for a site like this? Please pm me your answer as well as the current bid thanks.

 

Auction will end Friday, July 5th at 10:00 PM. I do have a reserve in mind don't mind keeping the site if the right offer isn't made. From the sound of some of the conversations I've had, I highly doubt this site stays on the market much longer, as there's strong interest at and around BIN.

All the traffic right now is totally organic and comes from Search Engines, trades, past plugs, etc. Spending money on advertising is definitely not required, but it does help jumpstart traffic and can really increase traffic and revenue quickly. Also note, I haven't spent ANY money on traffic for this site in 3 months and profit is still strong. Also note, I haven't added new videos in FOREVER, nor have I plugged the site on "free" traffic sources and the site still gets solid traffic... If you do both these things, it will perk up very quickly.

There are TONS of places (which I will give a list of to the winner) where you can get free traffic on a daily basis if you take the time out to. If the winner spends an hour a day they can double and triple their free traffic in a very short time and continue growing.

Current bid is still $2,000 but I have a few interested parties who are considering BIN and mulling over budget, so I expect at least some bids later today.

Updating an earlier point... The site is NOT on the first page for FUNNY VIDEOS right now... it's actually fairly deep in the results... But when the site was updated much more often, it was on the top page for quite awhile and I fully believe it can get there again with a little work and a steady update pattern. With such a competitive term (sending 800-1000+ visitors a day when top 5) you must maintain the site much better than I have... But the groundwork is definitely there with good off-site optimization, keyword in the domain, solid PR, and lots of back links.

For anyone worried that the site could have been banned in Google or anything like that, it still got nearly 6,000 visitors from Google in June even without top position for Funny Videos and continues to around 200 from Google on a daily basis, as well as 100+ from MSN including a hot keywords ("Sexy Videos").
