I'm sure anyone of you who following Toronto International Film Festival knew already about this movie. This is a new Indonesian action movie called The Raid (Serbuan Maut/Deadly Assault). From the trailer it looks like the movie tries to combine explosion, gunshot, with silat (Indonesian traditional martial arts) It's directed by Gareth Evans with list of actors such as Iko Uwais, Joe Taslim, Doni Alamsyah, Yayan Ruhian, Ray Sahetapy, Pierre Gruno, and Tegar Satrya. The score of the movie is composed by Mike Shinoda, a guy from Linkin Park. I read on the news that the international distribution right of this movie has been bought by Sony Pictures. So I believe you'll be able to watch the movie in theatres outside Indonesia such as in US, Asia, and Europe. Now, here's the trailer This is one of the review from Toronto International Film Festival : http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/raid-toronto-review-233596 This is from Mike Shinoda's blog : http://mikeshinoda.com/2011/09/09/the-raid-film-score/ Facebook fan page : http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Raid-Serbuan-Maut/265196620168977
as far as I know the movie had English subtitle when it was screening in Midnight Madness movie program at Toronto International Film Festival. So I believe any distributor who want to release this movie in US, Europe, or Asia, will put subtitle as well there.
Just read some additional info about the international theatrical release of this movie. Besides Sony Pictures who will distribute this movie in the US, there are also Canada (Alliance), the UK (Momentum), Australia (Madman), France (SND), Japan (Kadokawa), Germany (Koch), China (HGC), and Turkey (Calinos). Russia and other Slavic territories, Scandinavia, Benelux, Iceland, and Italy were the European zone deals closed since the screening, which occurred on the opening night of TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) last week. Deals were also made for all of Latin America and as well as East Asia, Korea and India. So I guess it nearly covers the globe.
