Don't you just hate it when you start to build up a directory and the script you are using goes south on you?
That is what happened to the Hot Damn Directory.
So I loaded up phpld ver2 this time, since that is a stable script.

Now Hot Damn Directory is ready for your links.

All regular links are free and are permanently placed on the HDD.

Featured ads are $1.99 for the first 25, also permanently placed on the HDD.

    http://www.hotdamndirectory.com

Thank you for submitting your links.

Okay, ALL ads, free and featured........ready for this?

    Permanently placed on directory....

As in, there for as long as I live and breathe, as long as the net is still up, as long as dirt needs to be cleaned from clothes.

    Sent you pm.

    Added by edit:
Now this gripes me to no living end! The email function is set up correctly, just like my other directories, and yet I get no emails to my inbox when links are submitted, etc.
Will wait a day or so to see if this is a server problem, host problem, or just me.

Maybe a temporary issue, but I submitted one than tried to go to another category and pages would no longer load. I closed & restarted FF, but again no pages loaded. It looked like the server was trying to send the page, but all I'd get is a blank white page.

    It is working okay now.
Just as I start this, some glitch in the server happens!

Just a few minutes at most, but enough time for me to be pulling what little hair I have out in clumps! LOL

Such is life on the net.

Edited: Going to put in a submissions guidelines as too many sites submitted are not going to get accepted.
Note for blogs...if they are dead blogs (ie...no updates since june 2006, that type) or blogs that are just articles, scraped content and newsfeeds, they will not be accepted.

Read the post that says ALL ADS ARE PERMANENT.

Not for a day, not for a month, not for a year, but PERMANENT...

As in for all time, or until I die, whichever comes first.

    Yay, works now.

Not sure I wouldn't get rid of that default text in the featured areas. Even Your Link Could Be Here would be better.

Good luck with the site. Hopefully, you've got all the kinks worked out now.

Of reviewing sites for acceptance (or heaven forbid if it is yours, deletion).

Eliminated a couple of categories (experience has taught me that not too darn many submissions or visitors to these), and added one for adult sites and one for gambling sites.
Plus forums got their own category.

Basically trying to get the categories and sub-categories worked to a point it will be easier for visitors to find, submitters to correctly submit their sites, and me to know submitted sites are done right the first time.

Need explaining on this comment "Not sure I wouldn't get rid of that default text in the featured areas. Even Your Link Could Be Here would be better."
Still trying to figure out what was said and what it is about.

And in the boxes on the right and left, in the buy-sell-trade forums in the link sales, I am selling off PERMANENT (do I really have to explain that one again?) text link ads.
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=146002

Thank you to all who purchased feature ads!

All afternoon and this evening, my sites including this one, go off for a minute to half an hour.
All I get for explanation of the problem?
"Our techs are working on this problem"
Just sent them an email saying in essence:
"Fire the techs and hire new ones pronto!"
    :p :p :p

Hopefully their dumb techs will not screw up the system and keep the sites up and running for at least the next week so I can transfer each site to new host company.

I went through and submitted most of mine. Good luck with the directory. Hopefully no more trouble. I noticed the PR grabbing is not working from your server. So, you might need to use the PR update tool every week or so...

    Featured links are $1.99 still.
WIll keep that price until October 1st.
Same with free links, until October 1st.

Still accepting good sites into the directory.

Schedule is to upgrade the phpld version 2 to version 3.6 (or whatever the current paid version will be) in October.
Plus get a custom skin done for the site (depends on my budget! LOL).

Same with all my directories, looking at the cost factor to upgrade them to the paid version of phpld.
