nope, people who use avatars like that usually end up being a guy. guys who use avatars like that don't impress me much. guys who use avatars like that are just out to hide their identity.

A crappy, tiny little pic that you can not see on the net? If I wanted to see that I could fire up google and find much larger/better pics in an instant. If anything it makes me not take the user seriously. BTW even 'if' someone looked at the avatar WTF does that help, the person is not following links.
I guess from a males perspective it would draw the attention of most guys but not so much to your post, just to your avatar. From the female perspective (which is my perspective), whenever I see an avatar like that my first thought is that the guy is a tool and whatever he has to say won't be all that intelligent. Sorry, but you wanted honesty.
