Hi, the server of this hosting www.hosting4wealth.net has been down for many hours, i and my friends have more than 10 sites hosted there, the owner is not reachable, what should i do now? Perhaps they are fixing up the problem, but what if they are not in business anymore, what can i do? The owner is here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1493398 If we decided to transfer the domains away to other server, how can we do without unlocked and the EPP code? We cannot unlock and get the code because cpanel is not accessible. Kindly advice. Thank you.
Seems like that they are using DIRECTI for domain registrations. Whois your domain name at www.whois.sc and check under the "Registration" tab for registrar info. Try to contact the registrar first and if your problem is not solved, then contact ICANN.
same situation here,,,,, server still down and nobody answer that number..... (Tel. +001.6412379983 Fax. +001.2068884162 )
This is exactly why you should have your domain with one registrar and host at a different place. So that they can never hold your domain as "hostage". Your domain is your business, your life. If they lock or take it away, all your hard work and money generating sites are just all gone. You should also never host with one single guy. That just smells trouble long way. Suddenly his cat dies, his Grandmother gets a kid (yeah, go figure!), his girlfriend steals his car and his house gets crushed by dinosaurs... For what ever excuse he might come up with, they all come down to the same point, he's not going to fix his server and your site will most possibly be gone. ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP ON YOUR OWN HARDDRIVE! Even go buy an external harddrive to make backups to once per month. It's a cheap life insurance if your site makes money. And don't always go for the absolutely lowest offer, spending a dollar or two more per month can be the difference between a serious and a bogus host. PM me for more tips on site security, suggested backup tactics, intervalls and so on.
"This is exactly why you should have your domain with one registrar and host at a different place".. i'm interested to know more, how to do that?
You can register your domain with one registrar, say for the sake of the argument Godaddy which we all know. Then you can host your site at Hostgator. Inside Godaddy's Domain Manager you simply set the name servers to point to the nameservers given to you by Hostgator. Whenever the domain name is entered, the question will go to Godaddy who will give the message "I don't host this site, but it can be found here instead..." and automatically direct the domain name visitor over to Hostgator who will show the requested site. This is the way you always should do it, don't combine the domain and its hosting at the same provider. The above mentioned way prevents the host from ever holding your domain hostage. If something goes sour with the host, take your backup copy and deploy it elsewhere at a new and better host, just change the name servers for that domain in Godaddy's Domain Manager. Of course the above mentioned works where ever you buy your domain and where ever you host your site. It's a universal system setup to make internet work.
The whole system down for more than 4 days. Even cannot access hosting4wealth.net site, their support site. Even phone not answered. I have 120+ sites and 9 domains as Master reseller. Fortunately 90% of everything I've got a backup in my PC. I found that the registrar is your company. DIRECT INTERNET SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD. D / B / A PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM. Now it is necessary to contact the registrar to arrange transfer of domains, or register to keep and at the new hosting only use their DNS. These scammers stole from me a few hundred dollars and made a lot of problems.
First of all go to ICANN, and complain there. And then host your domain with registrar like Godaddy and then host your website with another web hosting provider.
Yes, I used there 9 domain names. Myself three domains, and my clients (it has been Master resell webhosting) 6 domains. There has been complete Software Shop, JOOMLA admin system, Millenium Responder, Internet marketing (1,200 articles, 120 videos, e.t.c.,e.t.c.). A lot of hours of my work, and also money. Yes, from own mistakes, we have to always learn.
Yes, i'm learning how to host on another server. I have another domain, i can see the NS1 and NS2 is pointing to the same server, and NS3 and NS4 is empty. Can i just pay for another hosting without transfer the domain to the new hosting, and upload my full site. Then i point the NS3 and NS4 to the new server? Is this the way? Hope anyone can help to answer. Thank you.
If your another domain is with you, then you can delete the NS1 and NS2,then upload your new site to new hosting.
My point is, i want to keep NS1 and NS2, and NS3 and NS4 are for backup purpose. So in case like this NS1 and NS2 (in the same company) down, my site would still alive because already pointed to NS3 and NS4 on another company's server. Is this possible to be done?
Yes it can be done if you site is static page. Else if your site is wordpress then you'll have problem synchronize.
This setup is exactly what NS3 and NS4 is for, or for extremely large sites also for load balancing. For smaller sites of more normal traffic levels (to be honest, very few of us have sites the size of Google.com) you can setup a script which syncronizes the content/databases between two hosts, and with this setup you basically always have a real time full backup up and running, live and ready to go if for any one reason your primary host is down. The sync issue is a bit tricky though, not all hosts allow for it. Especially not if you're just on a shared hosting account. You could in theory host a very large site, on say five or six different hosts, on "unlimited plans" and then have syncronization and a rotating name server record (NS1, NS2, NS3, NS4, NS5 and NS6) between all of them, to make them go live at different times of the day and thus hide your real traffic levels from your host and thereby avoid getting banned due to high usage levels, and also host a very large site on five or six unlimited plans will cost you a lot less than having a dedicated box of similar size and bandwidth, so you'll save a lot of money too. But again, just because of thati possibility, many host don't allow for this kind of use of their service and will ban you if they find out.
