Hey all, did not know which category i should post this in, so i thought this one was the most accurate.

Well, i am looking for a company where i can host my site.
I am having this entertainment site, were people can see videos, play games, see pictures and so on. Currently i am hosting this at the same webserver as my blog, it is hosted at b-one, and i am really pleased by this hosting but i dont think that this will a good enough host for my entertainment site.

If anyone know a good host which falls under these requirements please reply to this thread.

    Requirements:
    Php
    MySQL (phpMyAdmin)
    FTP
Apache webserver, and the possibility to use mod_rewrite
    Alot of webspace
    Alot of Bandwitch
    A good price

This is what i have quick come with.

Hope you can help me :).

Don't know if they are accepting new customers yet but www.asmallorange.com is probably one of the best and meets all of those specs.

I'd recommend Powweb or UnitedHosting, probably UH more so.

I heard some not-so-good comments about asmallorange a few days ago - apparently their customer support is struggling to cope with demand at the moment.

it would be better to find a local host within your country itself if you focus on the local market

Sooner or later (and it looks like sooner) you will end up getting a dedicated server in which case you should go with a local company.

I'm in North Carolina and my hosts are in Houston, Los Angeles and Switzerland ...

I'm reasonably happy with all three (the one in Europe provides specialized services related to my used bookshop).

I used to host with Site5, but my site kept going down. I still have a personal relationship with them, but I personally can't recommend them to anyone else. Some people have great experiences while some do not. It's a shoot or miss kind of thing, in my opinion.

I personally recommend DreamHost.com to others though.

Midphase is really good, had some trouble getting MySQL to work because you can't use localhost, its remotemysql - other than that supports quick and the sites always up.
