    OK, Hi.
I need to get some hosting for my blog fairly soon.
What requirements will I need in terms of GB/bandwidth. I will only be doing like 1 post a day, so I hardly need high spec, but wanted to get a rough guide.
rep will be given for helpful answers
    Thanks
    Simon

It's a traffic related matter. You can run a blog on just about anything. You can run Wordpress for instance on any old shared hosting plan from say 6 dollars monthly and on. As long as you have the standard lamp setup you are fine. I wouldn't sweat it. Until you have tons of traffic, its academic.
    hope that helps,
    Nigel

There are quite a few people out here in dp who actually offers very good hosting.
And yes it completely depends on traffic, I'll advice you to get the cheapest plan of a good host and build upon gradually :) if you need anything regarding with whom you should host just throw me a pm. Cheers!

generally a blog (i believe a wordpress one) doesnt consume that much resources or bandwidth unless you post videos.

go with bluehost or hostgator. bluehost is very good! with hosting you may also want to conside peace of mind. you never want downtime of your site at any cost!

thanks, i will check out bluehost.
when i tried to register the 'hatchling' pack with hostgator, it said it would be $4.95 per/month + $5 setup fee, but when i went to the checkout, it said $8.99 + setup fee!!!! anyone else had this problem?

How many space and bandwidth do you need? May be I can trade you. I have a reseller account.

A basic hosting account would do. Stay away from oversellers (those offering hundreds of GB or even TB of disk space and bandwidth for 3$ a month). You want to find a host that is reliable and offers good support to its clients.

I think its bad Idea to buy hosting at dp. [IMG]Good hosting will not cme here to advertise or spam here. I have very bad experience of buying hosting at dp. I think webhostingpad provides good service at your budget. You can use google to find best one.
