i have a domain plan that does not support multiple domains on one server, but if i create a domain, forward it to a sub directory on the server and mask it, and also redirect the direct link to the directory via htaccess to the other domain, won't it be the same thing?
It should work but it will be hard to manage in the future if the number of domains are more. Also you will not be able to use sub-domains for your domains, if you forward your domains to sub directories. Kailash
I concur that there's no such thing as "unlimited" domains... but the term has been around for a while. The more accurate term would be "multiple" domains, IMO. I run a dozen or so sites on one hosting platform, and would never consider a hosting package that didn't allow me to use multiple domains and multiple MySql databases. I don't mind reasonable limits... if you want to limit me to 100 domains, and 100 databases, I'd be fine with that... but those are the only sort of website hosting packages I'd ever consider... there's too many of them out there for very reasonable rates to ever consider anything less. You may only own one website right now... but what about the future???
yes i know the package is a bit too basic, my renewal is approaching and i was planning on moving to Mediatemple grid hosting, how reliable are they? will they be able to handle occasional traffic spikes? any better choice? thanks.
