    Hello.

i am looking for hosting to start my buisness, and was wondering if someone got any suggestions on hosting companys i could use. dedicated hosting wich gives out a high ammount of bandwith per month, between 2-4gig would be good.

and since im not a linux person, im in dire need of windows based servers.

any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.

Dedicated hosting offering 2-4GB of bandwidth per month? Good lucky finding a dedicated host that offers LESS than that!

I do not believe they have windows servers, but I use and highly recommend KnownHost. AWESOME support.

They don't have dedicated servers - instead VPS which is just like a dedicated server minus a few things :)

    hehe nice :)

i was looking around on some hosts and i got a question.

currently i have a webserver that has 4000gig montly bandwith and 400gig of webspace, since it's a webserver i only have FTP access to it and Mysql access. and it's shared, cannot upgrade it with new HDD's .

my question is, should i start my buisness with that server, or got straight for dedicated hosting? i pay 150Euro a year for the one i have right now.

what im gona do is file hosting.

You're on shared hosting? Don't think for a minute you can actually use 4000 GB/month and have 400 GB of space... NOT A CHANCE... not even half that.

    Congratulations.

    http://www.dreamhost.com/hosting.html
The highest package is 380GB and 3800 GB respectively... and I think their's grows like GMail's system.

There is NO chance they (or any other shared host) will let you use as much as that. Why don't you upload a 500 MB file, post it here, and let us download it?

You'll see you won't get close to 8000 downloads (did I do that math right?)

sooo i guess they just type that to lure people "like me" ;) to buy it? so my best best would be to take a chance with a dedicated host i guess...

so back to square one, im still looking for suggestions on good dedicated server providers with windows based servers and mysql.

With all due respect, if you were under the assumption you could use all those resources, why did you even consider a dedicated server?

And even now, why do you feel you need one?

well, if the page to get popular and if it's like you say that they will never allow me to used all the bandwith they say i have i would most likley get kicked out for taking to much bandwith from my brinkster account i guess i would need to get a new server.

and since my brinkster server is shared i guess the speed "if many people use it" would be bad while a dedicated server mostly has a 10mbps or a 100mbps port. and speed is key on image hosting. it should got fast to upload, or people abandon you for someone else, that's why i think i should use a dedicated server.

btw is was looking around, do this sound like a fair deal?

Single Core AMD Athlon 64 3500+
    1 GB Ram
    2 x 160 GB
    (RAID 1-Software)
Windows Server 2003 SE 64 Bit
    Monthly Transfer Volume 2,000 GB
    100 Mbps server connection
    Included FTP backup
    Remote Desktop Connection
    Dedicated SSL Certificate
    8 Additional IP addresses

    $119 / month

We offer unlimited b/w and web space for £4 / month. As it happens the space is only really meant to be used for web related content (you can't just use it for backup), and the other semi-restriction is that if you use more that 5% of the server processing power, we will discuss other options with you. So if you are sure that your site will be big enough to need a dedicated server go for it, but I would guess that you don't need a dedicated server.

Also, if you join our affiliate program and make us a couple of sales, we'll give you the hosting package free.
