Hi, I realise that this has been asked before (kinda), but...

I want to buy hosting, I havn't done this before as I found some nice free hosting.
I hear that ASO is really good, but it is more expensive than others. (you get what you pay for...)
Also i read site5.com and hostgator.com are good.
Is this all true so far?
On this page - site5.com/superhosting/ - it says the account is "True MultiSite Enabled". Does this mean it has addon domains instead of parking, or is it better than addon domains? Are addon domains worse than having many different accounts?

Maybe we could have a stickied thread with info on hosting and peoples thoughts?

    Cheers,
    J.

Dear i'll not suggest you to go for free hosting as if we are getting hosting very reasonable rates and when you paid for anything you can expect servecies in return but in case of free hosting you can not question them for any problem occured and why you go for free hosting suppose you are getting free hosting from me and somwhow i don't want to continue my services then wat will happened ??
    can u imagine

    so plz reconsider on it

    Regards

I would like to have unlimited domains, which the above doesn't seem to do. I'd also like to pay as little as possible and get the most reliability possible (obviously i suppose).

I've had many, many hosts over my years online and as of this moment as I've stated before I can only think of one host I can recommend. They I'm sure are not the biggest, but I realy could care if it's 1 server running in someone elses data center or someone with 1,000 dedicated servers. I care about #1 servers running, #2 support and then price, features etc.

$10 a month and you can host many sites on, as many as you want to as long as you don't run out of space or bandwidth. Static IP's are a bit pricey at $2 each the only real draw back.

I have nothing to do with them other than running some of my sites on them but know the pain of inferior service :)

http://www.pro-net-hosting.com had nothing but luck with them so far.

I've been using Site 5 for about 4 months now and I can say I don't have a single complaint. Search for Site5 there is a few recommendations for them.

Ditto for a site5 kudo. I have multiple sites hosted there personally and for customers. I too cannot remember not one incident that wasn't handled both promptly and effectively.

    BTW, see my sig.

Also, if you do contract with them be sure to log-in using the Firefox browser for a nice discount.

For Multidomain hosting i would suggest a reseller account. This way you can host as many domains (in most cases) as you wish. You can also have private nameservers if you need. What is your budget?

    Thanks

as little as possible :D. Seen as I'm only just getting into this sort of thing I don't really want to invest too much - it might not work. I've seen that the sites I mention above have unlimited domains, even without reselling. It is possible that i could resell some of my space to make the hosting cheaper, dunno. I was thinking that a few dp members could grouip buy some hosting from ASO and get a great deal. anyone interested?

I offer hosting starting at 4.99/mo and I've got some good plans. I started out with a reseller account just for mine and my friends domains. I'll offer you a custom plan for smaller use if your really on a budget and don't need much space. I could go as low as 2.99/mo for 250mb space / 5gb transfer. You can upgrade later if you need something bigger. www.joehayes.org

    Godaddy - $3.99/month
I've been using this account for several new sites without one problem. I recommend it
