Hosting site reccomendation for new WordPress Blog

    Hi all,

I am looking for any hosting recommendations for a new WordPress blog that will be associated with my domain www.links.com. Currently, links.com is associated with a landing page on NameDrive and is receiving about 700 unique visitors a day. I hope to drive up these numbers in order to increase advertising revenue. At this time, I have no idea what bandwidth I might need.

I am most interested in excellent uptime and technical support, and secondarily it would be nice to have an easy install of Wordpress. I would like to have telephone support available to me as a future option, should I deem it necessary. Also, easy upgrading would be helpful, should the site grow as I hope. I have a fairly elastic budget, since this is meant to be a significant business venture over the long term. I was going to go with Site5, but the recent comments on this forum have raised many concerns.

Any assistance in choosing a host would be greatly appreciated. Also, any advice regarding a new WordPress install would also be appreciated. Thank you.

    Rich

Which country do you want to be hosted in?

If its the UK go with Positive Internet.

If its in the US, I personally like DreamHost.

If you look online, its pretty easy to find coupon codes that make your first year with them very inexpensive. I have always found their support and service to be top notch.

    Hi all,

Thanks for your help so far.

I would like it hosted in the U.S.

Lately I have been seeing many mixed comments on various forums concerning DreamHost (as well as Site5). So, any further comments concerning either of these hosts would be greatly appreciative. Reliability and technical support are paramount since I hope to develop this site into a high revenue producing site and would like to stay on the site for quite some time.

    Thanks again for any comments.

I signed up with Bluehost recently. Install is a snap with their Fantastico tool. Great support too.

I'm with Dreamhost for several of my sites. It is OK though a bit sluggish at times.

My busier sites I keep on JaguarPC whose tech support is darn near perfect and response time is usually five minutes or less.

    Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. I am checking out JaguarPC, BlueHost as well as 1and1 and Dreamhost. I expect I will need very reliable servers and phone support within a few months since uptime will become critical for revenue generation on www.links.com as the site scales up. Does anyone have any point of comparison concerning the reliablity and scalability of any of these hosting sites for a WordPress blog (there will probably be several subdomains). Thanks for all of your help so far.

Of course, not now or in the future phone support.
But uptime has been in the area of 99.5%.
Fantastico with each domain hosted, wordpress is just click and install from there.

I host with both Cyberwurx and Linksky. Cyberwurx has great tech support and I've never had a problem with uptime. With Linksky I'm plagued with mysterious times when my sites are unaccessible for a few minutes. I'm not sure if it is the host or if I'm being plagued by bad robots.

I've heard that Bluehost is good too and actually WordPress recommends them as well as a few others.
