Hosting servers region score

    Hello,

I have a website hosted in U.K, and I want to promote it in the U.S.
From one to ten, how critical is the hosting servers location in competitive terms?

Have any reasearches been written, or has any experiment been performed on that issue?
If so, I'd be grateful if you insert a link.

    Thanks

It makes a big difference, especially if the URL ends in .co.uk as well.

If you want one site to do well in both the US and the UK you can try having a .com site hosted in the UK.
Anyhow, what you need to compensate for having a non-US host to make it in a US market is the usual: links. In this case it would help to get links that aren't only targeted to your subject, but also to the region you want to target. In short: get links from relevant websites in the US on your subject.
