Hosting server removed a part of my database..

Although I had a backup, I'm beginning to have doubts on the principle of my hosting.

Is it possible that your hosting server can remove a table in your mysql database without informing you first?

I don't know exactly why it was deleted but has this happened to any of you?

Are they deleted or just corrupted?

I don't think this is fair. You or any company can have important data in it. THis is common to all small price hosting companies. They offer hosting at very cheap price and promise 100+Gb of space only for $1 or so. people go for and and once their data starts coming in and they use more then 1 or 2% of given huge space these guys start acting. They will say you are using lots of resources so they remove some part of your huge files or delete the data or table having more data.

Before you select any host dont go for all these cheap hosting companies. You loose a lot from your online business just to save few $$$ in hosting

I agree - You TOTALLY get what you pay for! I would never buy cheap hosting at some fly by night company, it would be crazy - unless of course you don't care whether you loose you stuff.

I don't think they will take the trouble of removing part of your database, most likely your database is corrupted. If they are looking towards saving space, it would be easy to do a rm -rf rather than using mysql commands.
