Hosting Server Location, Domain Registrar and SEO

    Hello guys,

what is the true impact of choosing the right domain registrar and web hosting service on SEO?

If our business is located in China, but we target US/Canada/Australia/UK clients... how should we choose the registrar and hosting servers?

Right now, our hosting is Godaddy but our domain registrar is Chinese (DNS are chinese)... is that bad for local search?

    Thanks

    I can tell you this:
I bought an expired domain that was originally hosted in the Phillipines. It was getting 90% google.com.ph traffic

I took the domain and put it on my hostgator reseller that's based in dallas, texas...now it's getting around 60% google.com traffic and 40% google.com.ph

You need an old domain, hosted in USA. Domain registrar has no influence over SEO.

Domain registrar does have an impact on SEO as some domain registrars you can buy the domain for up to 10 years - this is seen as good practice by search engines as you're not just a fly-by-night spam merchant.

The older the domain the better and preferably in the location of your country always is useful

Godaddy as the domain registrar is the best option.
Host your website from a good company ....mainly US based company.
    This will give better results.
