No, this is not the right place for this question :) This is the place were you ask people to review your site (those that you create).

To answer your question: I never used hostgator, but I used Dreamhost for more than 3 years and was (and still am) quite happy with the service and features. It is hard to beat dreamhost's package. Plus, the first year of hosting and free domain can be obtained for around 24$ - which is quite cheap. There are plenty of coupons you can find to get the discount. Mine is SUPERHOST and you need to enter it during the checkout.

    Good luck.

cheap and quality don't always go together.

My experience in the past with hostgator was bad also, shared hosting is pretty much a gamble because of huge overselling.

I have used budgethost.ca for a while and they are affordable and dependable.

Oversellers don't allow you to use more than hosts which do not oversell.

As if you use even 10% of the resources allocated, you'll be warned that you're causing high CPU load...and bam, you're kicked.

Try LunarHosting. Its not that cheap but its very reliable. Have you looked at ThirdSphere and goDaddy?

I think its always better not to go by the cheap offers...I am opting for www.fortunecity.com for my site hosting...it might cost me some $ 109.5 something ...but atleast I am assured of quality service.

I would definitely ask them why they suspended you. If you have a shared plan, all the users are on one IP. If one of the users go bad -- they start SPAMING, for instance -- the host will ban that IP.
