I am looking to start a small, local hosting business. Just wondering who the best reseller is to go to?

Also any advice anyone can give me.

    Big question.

The short answer is do a search for resellers but you'll probably be best going with one that will handle the payments for you.

I did see one or two in my travels but cannot remember who they were.

Also make sure they you can create standalone Cpanel Accounts so you'll
be looking at them providing a WHM - Web Hosting Manager.

And make sure they are going to be around when you need them.
    Check out their support etc.

I'm with a hosting company as a reseller, although I don't do any reselling.
I mainly use it to throw up all my sites and give away some to friends and charities. They have very good 24 hour support and are geared towards the needs of marketers.

But you just want resell hosting..
If I remember who that company is with the account handling feature I'll let you know.

    Someone here will know!

    Cheers

If your going to start a hosting company, don't resell space on reseller accounts, get a dedicated server and then you are in more control over what happens, i have had a hostgator server for 6 months now and its only ever been down once for a very small amount of time. dedicated servers are getting a lot cheap now and you should be able to find a p4 server with cpanel whm for $100 mark, take a look at apthost and ask hostgator if they have any specials on their servers i got a big discount off one of their server as i asked just at the right time.

Hostgator give you free WHMC billing software, plus you can get a discount when you use a Hostgator coupon.

Ok I've found that hosting company.

They are called site5host.com - (No affiliate Link)
    http://www.site5host.com

I've not used them myself but they come recommended.

So add that to your research.

    Good luck!

    Cheers
