Hosting Red5 - VPS or Dedicated?

I'm interested in purchasing a flash video chat script. I am told that the software needs Red5 to operated the voice and video capabilities. Can Red5 be run effectively on a virtual private server, or do I need a dedicated server?

If I need a dedicated server, can anyone point me in the direction where I can get the best deal. I really want to have this software on my sites, but I don't want to necessarily be paying $300/month for a dedicated server just to run it. Thanks!

Since you are starting out, Getting a full blown server would be waste of resources. While starting out it is recommended to get a VPS first and then move to a dedicated Server as the traffic grows.

This would prove cost effective. a VPS can handle Video/tube sites

A vps will hold the sufficient abilities and HDD/Bandwidth for your needs whilst traffic into your site is still low. As your site grows it would be a wise investment to purchase a dedicated server with a good CPU, to ensure that your video/tube buffer load time doesn't become disadvantaged by the lower capabilities of a VPS.

    Good luck.
