    Hi all,
I have some hosting problem with a few of my websites. They are hosted on a reseller account. The problem is this: I made a new website and ask a few friends - in different countries - to take a look. They all said "I can't see your website". But I was able to see it. So I did a ping. All OK. I checked the domain using domaintools and it said "Registered and NO website". I talked to the support guy and he said "All OK from our side". Asked the friends again to take a look - the answer is still "can't see a website" (page not found). Can anybody give me an opinion on this? thank you a lot.

It could be DNS issue, so you have to make sure DNS setup is right in your domain and for your site

When they say they can't see the site, what do they see? Is there an error message. Please post some additional information on the problem.

That could be either has not fully propagated yet, or need to be verified on the domain register in reference to the correct dns and ips as well verification on the dns zone in the server if the domain has private name servers. Also to check that the firewall is not been block in the server, meaning to whitelisted the ip

@ aassociatehit DNS is set up well - I checked.
@ mentos I know about the 48 propagation. It's not the case.
@ southflausa I'm not sure what my friends see, I guess it's a "page not found".

But right now, when I'm writing this I tried to open one these problem websites. I must tell I use opendns.
    This is what I get:[IMG]
2 minutes later, all is OK. And 30 minutes later, the error is back. And so on.
I have about 10 websites on this reseller account, but only 2-3 of them have this problem.

I guess I must move to another host. ;-(
But I still want to know what happens.

Anyhow, a warm "thanks' for all the answers.

@ rmcs0426 I don't think it's a propagation issue. There have been about 10 days since the hosting account was created when I asked frinds to take a look.
I talked with the hosting support guy. He said all OK on their side and that I must talk to domain registrar support. The registrar support said it's not their fault ...and of course he told me "talk to hosting support". ;-o If my IP is blocked in the server firewall, why my friends can't access the website?

@ xcbh I tested one of the websites as you suggested and I got this: 30 results OK, 38 fail, with this error: Failure("Domain lookup failure:'domainname.tld' Exception:Not_found"). I also used intodns .com and get some errors too.

I have contacted my hosting support again with this new info, maybe they'll be able to solve the problem now.

Good am glad it helped, you might also want to consider changing hosts (I am on Hosterbox right now and they are really good), I know that hosterbox also has a free forever plan but I think they will only offer it for a limited time. You might want to look into that. I found one of there offers: forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2003813

I assume that it is high time to change your current hosting provider to another, more stable host with informative and helpful support that will explain you everything you may need to know.

    This is DNS issue!
You must wait 24 - 48 hours to open the site properly from all over the world!
