i am planning to run my own e-commerce website and thinking about getting shared web hosting package for the site so is it good or i must go for VPS or Dedi Server?
It really depends on the app you use but as a general rule a vps is better because you can tune it etc. hope that helps, Nigel
If you're going to go with Magento shopping cart or another CMS that very resource heavy I advise you to go with VPS. You can always later upgrade to cloud or dedicated server later on when your website traffic grows. I wouldn't bother with shared hosting that's just me. It'll depend on what you're realistically comfortable with paying per month on hosting.
VPS or dedicated services might be necessary, especially if you plan on using an SSL on the site. Good luck and all the best.
As a starter , everyone think of low cost start up. So you can try with share hosting but get the higher package of share hosting which is unlimited share hosting which you can found below $5 per month for most of the hosting provider. Until you start earning and you need more resource to support your website and you would not like to share environment with other people . You only consider of VPS and Dedicated Server which is much more expensive.
How many products and attributes will you be needing? I suppose you should compare offers and choose the best option.I know that vpswebserver.com is offering really quality windows vps hosting solutions perfectly compatible with any e-commerce software, you should give them a try.
Unless you pay for a fully managed VPS, you must know how to administer a server. I would start of with a simple shared hosting plan than migrate to a managed VPS, then scale up from there.
I'd recommend starting out shared, to keep costs down. You can always move to VPS or dedicated as your traffic increases. Unless you need greater control over the server -- then you will need to consider hosting services higher than shared.
The choice between a shared server and a VPS is going to be pretty specific to your needs (i.e. cost you want to pay and amount of incoming traffic). Many people start with a shared server to keep costs down. This article spells out the difference between the two. http://www.futurehosting.com/shared-hosting-vs-vps-which-is-right-for-your-business/
the only thing you need is a quality shared provider, and be sure to ask for costs for a dedicated IP and an SSL for your site, pricing for an IP is sometimes more then the hosting itself, so be sure to ask before you join up. Once your site grows, and has alot of traffic, then you could look into a vps, however for a new starting site, it is not a good idea to start off with a VPS due to the additional costs that it places on your business.
1.All Host providers dont support Ecommerce in shared hosting. 2. If u are planning to start with good advertising solutions for ur company.. Dont use Shared . 3. Remember , Mailing Is important Aspect in ecommerce, u wont get in shared as there are many restrictions 4. I recommend atleast start with VPS 5. If don't want mailing / not interested to advertise , Go for shared
