Hosting or scam?

I have a problem with my hosting and I don't know what to do. Hostmonster is my hosting provider. I'm using them for an year and till now there wasn't anything wrong. A week ago I contacted the support with small problem. The problems started the next day. Something changed all my index.php files to 0777 access and add hacking code to them. I fixed this, mailed the support and forget. They replay with coordinates of their friend, a security expert ...

Anyway today all my index.php are in the same state. And the second I change them, they are changed back by some process on the server.

    So what to do?

I found some people had the same problems like me. Obviously they target people from outside US. And if the customer don't have enough technical knowledge they recommend their security expert.

I know what I'm doing, every single parameter is checked and double checked, and obviously some process on the server is changing my files.

    What can I do?

I think you should change your hosting provider, any hosting that don't offer serious support obviously they are not serious . IF all worked fine until now than i don't know what the problem could be beside hosting .

I would recommend that you move and ask for a refund find a better hosting outfit I could suggest a few for you but you really haven't asked for that so I will leave alone.
It does sound very suspicious and sounds very much like a scam although I dont like throwing those accusations around lightly you may end up having to leave them with out a refund if so I could help you out pm me if you would like for me to help you in some way.

Yeah, with good hosting should come good support, this means quick replys on your tickets and even an online assistant. I suggest you demand a refund and switch hosts straight away.

Get yourself a refund and move on. They seem to lack the support we all favor in a good hosting provider. They seem to be quite lazy. Web hosting providers should know what they're doing, these guys don't seem to know.

Well, it would be worth changing your password/checking if any scripts you use have any vulnabilities. update your software etc

That is a pure case of cheating. Your bad luck. You should immediately look for another web host. I think your money is gone.

First of all, sign up several free hosting, then upload your script there.

Monitor it for few day, whether the same problem still persist or not.

If the problem persist, which mean the problem lies at your paid hosting server.

No thats simple and not really need to expense more.

Here is the way you should do.

    1. change all your passowrd like cpanel into complex combination.
    2. change your billing password.
    3. all your .php files attribute should 755
    4. do not trust anybody to give your password
    5. for more tips and information visit google and type the word you want to know the answers.

    Thank you.

Typically, 640 for files and 755 for folders is really all you should need.

File permissions set too high is a common mistake a lot of users make, such as setting a folder and all files within to 777 in order to make a script work and leave themselves vulnerable to having their account compromised.

well the hacking attempts can be due to many factors, maybe you had an outdated scripts that can be exploited by hackers or it can be server reasons like tmp not being hardened or like how goddady client got hacked.
