    What is FTP access?
    I am looking for buying new domain name and space for it. So i recently head this term from one guy. May you explain me the exact meaning of it.

    ftp access is for your file to be uploaded to your hosting server. in order to ftp you need an access. Your hosting provider will provide you the username and password for it.
    which ever hosting you buy they will provide for you and support to.

    The process by which files are transferred to the web server is called "FTP" (File Transfer Protocol). You have unlimited access to your account by both telnet and FTP 24 hours a day.
    Online services which offer an Internet gateway, such as AOL, CompuServe, and Prodigy may have a built-in FTP interface. If you have a PPP Internet account, you need an FTP "client" (a software program that performs the FTP function.)
    Two of the most popular FTP clients for Windows machines are CuteFTP and WS_FTP. For Macintosh users, Fetch FTP seems to be the standard.

    as you said ftp is the software program. So this program will be provided by my hosting provider or I have to buy it.

    no you dont have to buy it. you can use free like fille zilla. use the information your hosting provider have gave you to access it.

    is there a cpanel information? if there is then you dont have to use ftp to do that..some find it difficult since the gui of ftp isnt friendly. just use your cpanel

    You do not need have Cpanel to have FTP access. If web hosting provider do not provide ANY cp to you ask them for FTP details and use third party FTP client

    Here is an online source (w w w. Webhost.Org) which I found during my search on Google for web hosting information. They have list of top web hosting providers. They also give basic information on some web hosting services like, Shared hosting, VPS hosting, Dedicated hosting, Reseller hosting etc.. I have contact Blue Host and Fast Domain From them web hosting providers list.
