hosting from yahoo?

Hi Guys,

Please tell me what do you thing about the hosting service provided from Yahoo.

I have heard that their hosting is 100% uptime(that's what I need) but what about the support if there is any?

Please advise on this if you have websites there.

i have hosted with yahoo for a few years now. never had a problem with them.

 

Their support is not very reliable.

 

Indeed 100% uptime, best reliability I have found so far. However, a lot of disadvantages that you may want to consider: severe technical limitations, recently a few minor (but recurring) database glitches, quite ineffective support ... but still, uptime is the most precious thing in the world and if thats what your website needs most (as a few of mine) then go for it.

 

I am looking to switch cause after I sign up for website monitoring service it turns out that my website goes down almost every night.

I heard that ICDsoft are 100% uptime and good support but they doesn't have phone support.

Yahoo hosting is perfect for static/corporate sites. If you plan to have a site with static content (or few updates per year) that will work great for you. I had a try with Yahoo before to announce unlimited traffic blah blah and had problems with them. I wanted to run a forum on phpbb and I had to quite that thought, was a pain (somewhere) to make that forum work on Yahoo.

Which is max file size limit on yahoo? I consider using it for storing files mostly

 

I think you work with proffesional hosting companies which only serve hosting services.

 

My websites are with Yahoo.

It has 100% uptime.
Also their support is really good.

They will reply to all queries in 24 hours.

Once i had a problem with some script and they actually made a new working one for me, which had more functions than the previous.

@everyone- do you think if I host in Yahoo I will get better ranking in Yahoo Search egnine?

 

I've used yahoo and have been problem free.

 

I've never had problems with yahoo.

They offer a lot. I did some work for a client via yahoo hosting. It was a bit all over the place. Wordpress install was easy. Called support for help and the guy was a complete moron. Otherwise I think it is good hosting, you just need to get used to their set up if you come from a cpanel situation like I do.

 

You wil not have any problem with their hosting but there are cheaper alternative

 

I used to have a site hosted on yahoo. But it is not a cpanel platform and monthly charge is expensive comparing to other hosting companies.

 

what is hosting...i have never heard of it
