I am thinkin of hosting my sites frm home,
So i just wanted to know, if any has ny experience of self hosting

I've done it once, but my internet seemed to be to slow, and it started slowing even further when google came by,

 

You definitely can, if you have your own IDC company...

 

I hosted my sites few years back from my home computer. My internet connection went so slow that simple webpage took 10-20 seconds to load.

 

Is there any device needed in able for you to do that I mean hosting at home?

 

dont waste your time or money doing this just pay for hosting you will be alot better off

Hey you can certainly do it. But hosting has become too cheap. Hosting from home has its own hassles...

1. You have to keep your PC on 24/7

2. You will burn up your upstream bandwidth

3. With ADSL/Cable/DSL connections we have average downstream but low upstream which means your site would load slow for visitors.

4. You need to maintain your own hosting server

5. For hosting you will have to open up your port to internet, any leak could bring in trojans...

But hosting outside would give you faster and reliable hosting at an econocial price
