    1. There is no best hosting service. Wordpress can run on nearly all hosting services now, so price and reliability are what you should base your decision on.

    2. Yes, but signing up for hosting via those affiliate links makes money for the Wordpress people which helps them run the site.

    3. Yes, both subdomains and addon domains can usually be added.

Take your pick when it comes to hosting a wordpress blog as most hosts are capable of doing it.

Hostgator seems to be the most widely used.

I suggest you to go for GoDaddy host. I mean.. if you buy the hosting at GoDaddy, you will get a domain for only $1.99 . Another thing is, you don't need to upload the files and install it manually. Just go to Hosting Connections in GoDaddy and install WordPress.. It will install for you without 2 minutes. Its too simple. Even I use GoDaddy!

Sure! They are just recommended by them as those Hosting Providers have bought the Ad space there. lolz.. Those are like ads!

Go for GoDaddy Deluxe hosting. You can have unlimited sites. But.. only 25 Databases and if you want to host more than 25, then.. you can get a free database somewhere else like www.db4free.net .

    Good Luck :)

I'm using Lunarpages for hosting for my wordpress blog. I did some comparission shopping before selecting them and they seem to offer the most bang for the buck for a small shared hosting account. They also have pretty generous affiliate program. I've also used Hostgator and 1and1 in the past and they worked just fine.

Bluehost is another that gives a free domain with some hosting accounts. If you choose GoDaddy do yourself a favor and don't get the economy package.

You may also like to try Host Papa. All my sites are WP, Fantastico enabled, and they also use green offset credits to support alternative energy.
You can see them through my sig link below.
