I'm looking forward to move my phpld dir out from godaddy. Is anybody using one of these for phpld? lunarpages apollo bluefish who do you host your phpld with anyways?
I'm using dreamhost due to you can get seperate IPs for directories and even for subdomains all in one easy solution. Some have problems with phpld and dreamhost setup, but it's really not that big of a deal if you know what you're doing.
I host my websites on my own servers . Check out my hosting offer here - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=239466
I see this type of thread pop up often. I'm curious: * are there any unusual hosting requirements needed to run phpld? * names of specific hosts that *can't* run phpld.
godaddy made changes to their servers that caused phpld to malfunction (admin page cannot be accessed). this happened last week and I haven't been able to admin (i.e. approve links) my dir since. Neither godaddy nor phpld people seem to be able to fix the problem, so I'm moving out of gd (others did too) I don't know what the "requirements" are, but before buying a hosting I want to make sure that phpld is working fine with them.
HostGator is a good option. I've been satisfied with hosting my PHPLD's there. You should be fine if you have the following: Compatibility: Tested on PHP 4.2, 4.3 and 5.0 Tested on mySQL 3.23 and up Also, Tested on Fedora, RedHat, Windows 2003 and FreeBSD Taken from Features I also stumbled upon a site that looks like it might offer hosting for people looking to start a PHPLD called PHPLD Express . Can't wait to see it live and what exactly it offers.
I usually recommend hostgator too. I am no longer recommending site5. If you can afford vps, I really like servint.net
If you give me couple of Back links, I will give you free hosting. You can choose between three different IP's (D class IP's) (not a dedicated IP - it is shared IP) Thanks
I use Hostgator currently and they are ok... I prefer to do business with those who invest into me... Lunerpages have invested a large sum into my directories paying for advertising space as well as featured links in all my directories so its only a matter of time till i have them host a few of my directories to show them mutual respect as well as they seem to have thier act together with plenty of options for everyone. thx malcolm
GoDaddy - MOD ReWriting issues. Can for the most part be tweaked DreamHost - Pathing issues / running as CGI I recently moved directorydump over to hostgator, and I'm satisfied. note* with GoDaddy's recent f*k up and having their entire network of hosting sites come down, I just took a few of my clients and moved them over onto my reseller, to avoid their horrid tech support and servers. Seriously, try and stay away from GoDaddy's shared hosting out of all of them.
Well, if you want free option, try my Free phpLD hosting service. For paid options, I'd definitely recommend HostGator. Check HostGator Reviews and Coupons if interested.
