I posted this previously in the incorrect section. My apologies. My current contract with my current host is about up and I am thinking its time for change. My website has been ok with them but lately cronjobs have not been going through properly and starting to receive some internal errors. There has been more recent downtime/sluggishness as well. I am roughly pulling about 130-150gb/mo bandwidth and on an entry level shared account that is kind of pushing it, I think? Should I switch to a VPS? My intention is to run a browser game or two, with a few directories. The current shared host has a 64mb memory limit which is starting to impede some of my more complex code. Is there much of a performance boost when switching from shared to some VPS accounts? I have looked at 1&1, GalaxyVisions, Mochahost, VPSland, and a few others. Some sites show them with high ratings, others low. I almost went with GalaxyVisions and 1&1 until I saw the reviews. I looked at Hostgators new VPS option, but they did not extent their terms of service for VPS accounts in terms of browser games, directories, or topsites (even if within the bandwidth allotment for the month) Any suggestions? The things to keep in mind: - I need well over 500 mail/hour limit via mail() - Browser Games/Web Directories/Potential Topsite - At least 100gb bandwidth per month - Low cost? but thats always good
