    Hi,

I haven't ever asked for advice, or took any guidance so far since establishing my company in Nov 2008.

I want to make clear, this thread is not me trying to advertise myself, I'm asking for views on where I can look further head to next to increase sales.

So.. I established on the 8th November 2008 and came up with http://www.5wire.co.uk, so far, not including domain reseller investment, I have broke even the first month, and am close to breaking even second month.

I currently believe, I would stand in the top 15 'professional' UK providers if it came to "cheap" (I prefer the term affordable) hosting, as well as resellers located in the UK, maybe not Europe.

I have submitted to one or two hosting directories which have got me a bit of traffic, however nothing which is beating the 300 UV mark.

If you review the pricing on the site, I think people will agree that domains are slightly higher priced than elseware, (well 123-reg.co.uk are £8.99 without hosting). The reasoning for this is because of poor exchange rate from USD to GBP.

All advice and questions are welcomed :)

Why don't you check www.webhosting.info/webhosts/ to see where you currently stand ? :)

Also, regarding your website, I feel its too White. Your pricing is alright, no need to change that.

UVs are not important, conversions are. We at LaceHost have 3000+ UVs daily (& a 90K Alexa ranking), but the conversions are nowhere near what I would have liked.

    Cheers for the response.

The website, I like it, but I understand what you mean. When I look at it on different resolutions it looks better / worse. On my screen, its 22" and at full resolution and it looks quite small. However, website changes are plans for the longer term, I'll probably end up re-designing a new website in 2/3 months time, I don't feel that is very urgent.

I understand on the conversions too, I mean we both wish 100% of that turned into sales but it'd never happen, I would say my conversion rate is about 3% which isn't great, but something to work on.

I couldn't find my site on that link you left, whether or not that is UK based I don't know, my alexa ranking is 7M+, I blame that down to new establishment; http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/5wire.co.uk

    Hi,

I see that link you gave is UK + US, no I couldn't find 5wire on there. However, to be honest, I'm no where near the size of the top few companies I see on there.

There are many way to achieved it.
You can promote it at web hosting forum such as DP.
Or you can hire someone and then give them the task of generate sales for you.
In return you give them some percentage of the sales as commission.
You can also setup a affiliate to encourage your hosting user to bring in more customer.

You could also promote your company at places such as WebHostingTalk. It's a great place for a host to advertise and get some tips for your web hosting company.

I find it difficult on DP because its a mainly US based audience, I know there are UK + EU users on here however not as many as American, I don't plan to start over the pond just yet unfortunatly.

I don't really want to hire anybody, I have been considering sales commission in return for payment.

I currently have a gaming team part sponsor, which have 2 of the top UK Team Fortress 2 servers being full 24/7.

The affiliate idea is a way I may consider, but would have to get a pre-made script as I do not have time to code, can anybody recommend one?

    Thanks for replies,
    James
