Hi All just getting started in developing websites and things and have a fairly noobish question. Obviously for any site you buy and want to develop you need to have it hosted somewhere eg GoDaddy etc - my question is if you have multiple sites can they all be under the one account which you pay say $10 a month for or would it cost $10 to run each site per month.

Hopefully that makes sense and hopefully i am in the right sub directory to ask the question any help is appreciated!

It depends on the host. Most of them offer "unlimted domains" as a standard feature. This just means you can host multiple domains under the same account.

Godaddy offers unlimited domains hosted under their deluxe account, but not on the basic.

    Good luck. :)

You usually pay for the traffic you generate and the storage you use.

Basically if anything takes up space on their computers or uses their transfer speeds up, you are going to be paying for it.

You don't get charged more if you use more bandwidth / space. You are alloted the same amount of resources per month and you can't get over those limits or you will be charged extra for it.

Most webhosters allow to run multiple websites on one account. For instance, I am running 10 sites at HostGator (link in signature) and it's only requires a bit more expensive ($1/month more) hosting package.

If you only want to pay for the resources your site uses ( not a standard fee), check out nearlyfreespeech.net

you pay for hosting ... well yah it is confusing if your a "noob".

well usally most sites sell host in form of bandwidth and hard drivespace ... and some time with maximum sites hosted limitation.

trafic ... it depends on the amount of cpu/ram resources your host allocates for you. this stuff is in the fine print.
