Hosting Customer Support

    Ok, I had a problem with my FTP. All the files met the specifications outlined in their help center and I had no issues on my side in terms of connection, but out of the 492 files I tried to upload, only 3 successfully uploaded and the rest failed.

    So, I rang their customer support. I had to wait 22 minutes for somebody to pick up. I explained the situation and the guy replied "All our servers are running fine and there are no issues with the FTP's". Being annoyed at this, I tried again and said no sucess, he then put me through to their technical support. The man who picked up was very obviously Indian and I didnt understand a word he said in his first line, so I again explained the situation slowly so he could understand. He then replied "Sorry, no problem on here" and hung up. I mean - WTF?!?!

    Switch hosting companies. I've used a lot of different hosts, and the best I've found is Dreamhost. Their customer support knows their stuff and has helped me with every issue I have ever had, and their control panel is really nice and custom.

    Are you trying to upload large files? And all 492 files at the same time? A simple FTP shouldn't be a problem. If they are large files try some smaller ones, and if you are trying all of them at the same time try like 3-10 at a time instead. Just to see if you can. If you can't get simple FTP to work the way it should, it would make me wonder what kind of other issues one might have in with other things and in the future.

    Not the best support your host has it sounds like either. If they just hang up on you that would be a little discouraging. Good luck with it.

    the best way for communication is email , do send the screen shots and error to host so there is no confusion or communication.
    I feel sorry for you. try to switch your web host .

    My customer support people speak perfectly good English and answers the phone, usually by the 3rd ring ..
