How about hosting business novadays? Is it still profitable? What are perspectives for this industry for the nearest and more far future? Anyone can share his experience?
Hi, Well if you become famous.. so if the word is spreaded you're done... you only EARN from than.. but before you must invest and invest.. People want high uptime, and cheap prices and mostly live support Concentrate you on these points, and remember the first months you won't earn money... So if you deliver good work it can become something Greetz
Hosting is a saturated market - in my opinion. It can still be profitable though. Everyone talks about niche marketing. You could look at a niche within the hosting niche. For example, offering 'green hosting' - you could even donate small $$ to charity for each user that signs up.
Many people ask about this everyday so here is my input on it. Like what davidson said, you need to have something special. Something that is different from other hosting companies. If you all you want to do is be a normal hosting company with no other additive, people will go to big companies like godaddy. Have some kind of special deal or offer that people will notice or take advantage of. Thats just what i think though
Its true the market is saturated and that makes it difficult to make a business out of it unless you have something unique to offer or spend an absolute fortune in marketing. I found that local business marketing has been the most profitable for me. As its usually face to face or telephone contact a better customer bond is created. This in turn results in extra income from add on business. I find that i dont have to match the ultra low interenet competion prices that way either. I still advertise for internet sales but its a very mall proportion on my business.
Not only saturated, you must fight with the naive crowd, they think GB ( disk space and bandwidth ) grow on threes. You must fight with people requesting over 50 GB storage because they want to host an elephant on your server for 1 $. You must fight with an industry where almost anyone lost decency.
+ Remember.. bandwidth is getting cheaper these days... soon you will buy 100GB for 0.25$ or something So euhm Greetz
Will not be soon, next 50 - 100 years, people working in / for datacenters, hosting companies must be paid. How X company will pay 25 employees selling 100 GB for 0,25 cents. I need to sell 800 GB bandwidth / day only to eat my ... yogurt + water = a dedicated server / 24 hours only for myself and only to eat an yogurt and drink water.
It seems that you have just started your business http://esobtel.com. Good luck from me well i was thinking for goin into that business but looking that market is saturated i quit. I feel personally Hosting is profitable when a user trust is obtained.Getting into contact with them and good support they will definitely buy your hosting service. I think you should more focused on advertising your website. My personal suggestion is that you advertise via CPM. n Yes please use http://www.esobtel.com the http://esobtel.com doesnt seems to be professional. Make the connection as SSL (https://) Good luck!
Also, webhosting business is also depending on how you package your products. Some hosting offers SEO, certain niche, easy online website builder and so on. ITs a competitive market, but definitely a lucrative business.
It still have room for new comer. To get more market share you should provide more innovative product at competitive rate. And don't forget to provide 23/7 live support in case your customer have any problem
if anyone wants to get into a niche hosting business, something completely new... please check the link in my sig. thanks
not really, that isn't traditional hosting. its a method you can use to get many many Tbs of space for less than half the price, without buying equipment/servers whatever. Works ONLY for static files, not other stuff. JUST STORAGE.
Hosting the business... Not a bad idea... One can enter into any field, just the condition is that one should be willingly interested in that and should be aware about the pros and cons of the business... than success is yours....
It's a lot of work to do support for a low-profit product like hosting. The way to do it is to package hosting with other services and the hosting becomes a source of ongoing income that way.
