Hosting and SERPS

    Oy!!! So its me again ;D Ahaha,

    I've a question that let me perplexed! I've been promoting a french site and i want it to rank well on google France! But the hosting is based in Texas, Houston (ahah): So i've started the promotion a while ago like 1 week or so and i started to get some rankings but only on google.com, yahoo.com, msn.com! Not google.fr and so on so forth...

    You think there is a connection between the fact my hosting is based in Texas and i get some rankings on the google.com and not google.fr?

    If yes is it a good idea that i change my hosting to a french hosting?

    Chacal Repond!! So you do mean that i've to change my hosting to a french hosting right ? Any suggestions for a good one :( Damn it if i knew it i would have done that from the beginning

    A'ight ;D, i've been chatting on some french forum they all suggested the same thing that i've to apply that website to a french hosting... I'm looking for a good french hosting service!

    ;D im setting up a french hosting right now... Yo-Yo got some cool french hosting list :)

    The one i am aiming at is http://www.web1.fr/, they've a hosting program for 2.50 Euros a month with lots of useful stuff!

    Yes definately relocate the hosting to a French server/IP. You can also ensure your TLD is .fr - as you've already done and get links from French sites.

    Get you site to France and Just try to increase the density of france word in your site as possible, so that relevancy of the religion should come in the serach engines.

    I've used a .com TLD and i started the promotion so i'll have to do without the .fr! :( ARg, but i will get as more backlinks from french site as i can, nice input mattUK :D!!!

    No worries :) - the hosting location is still the most important thing, you really need to focus mostly on that.

    Hosting IP should be in France for any preference ( if any)
    The domain extension .fr is also considered local for france.

    All the points are taken into consideration for competitive rankings.
    But if you dont rank well individually, no need to waste time on that part.

    Just my opinion.
