Can anyone recommend a good hosting provider for a high volume forum. By high volume I mean with many users being able to upload attachments.....

Would BlueHost.com be good for this?

    thanks in advance!!

I see high volume as traffic and not just attachments. Do you have 500-1000 visitors a day? If yes go dedicated and not shared host.

Well the plan is to have that many like you said......however even 50 users with uploads will start to take alot of space. Right now I have about 300 guest visitors a day average but sometimes more that are turning into regular forum members slowly (the forum is new). That is why I am looking now...

I have been the dedicated route before and am not pleased at the level of service I have received.......uptime was awful and help in crisis was terrible ....and this was with Cihost and Burstnet.....I don't really want to pay $125 a month or more for crap service running my own dedicated.......there has got to be another way...

The real cheap alternative is VPS but you are on the line.... You really need dedicated.

I run dedicated at Serverbeach for almost 4 years now, they have servers for every range. Check the Category 1 line, $the 89 a month one. 1GB RAM with a 80GB Disk and 2000GB transfer.
