My hostgator web/ftp stats are not updating. I've checked in all of them and the only thing that gets updated is my "latest visitors." For everything else it states that the last update was Dec 16th at 12am....is it normal for the stats not to update for so long...I mean it's been over 48 hours already. Or did I mess something up?
yeah, usually its 24hrs on the money for updating. If they haven't updated recently i would submit a ticket to your host.
I ended up using the online chat help last night. The guy said that it sometimes "gets stuck" and they have to do it manually. Well he said that in 30 min it should update....but an hour later nothing had happened. So i got fed up and went into the Awstats config file and changed the settings to allow me to have the update button. Once I did that I just clicked "update" and everything was fine. I dunno if my workaround is going to piss them off, but their "fix" did nothing. Anyways, anybody have any idea why my stats would stop updating? The only thing that was current was the "last 300 visitors" stats.
Stats updates are executed by a cron job. If there is a problem with the cron jobs on the server, the update will not be performed. Are you sure of that ? This does not make sense to me. Jean-Luc
Yea I'm sure. My stats for latest visitors had hits up to date (12/18) whereas everything else such as awstats etc had their last update as the 16th. I suspected cron job too, but I have never touched it. Everything is working now though, the hostgator support guys did infact fix it. He was only wrong about the update showing up in 30 min. It didn't show up until the next day, but now everything is updating daily as it should.
