Hi everyone For those who don't know as yet, Hostgator is weeks away from becoming a full-fledged domain registrar. The promised domain registrations at lower costs than Godaddy. This is going to be interesting to see. http://www.techweek.org/4821hostgator-webhosting-growing-from-strength-to-strength.html
I hear so many bad things about hostgator.com, I'm surprised people are actually using them. Me, I've never used hostgator so I have nothing bad to say about them as a company. Either way, I'm interested in seeing how godaddy reacts to the price of hostgator and to see if godaddy will even try to compete.
I would not quite agree. I have been with Hostgator for almost 6 years. I maybe have had one or two small issues, but never any bad experiences.
I actually love HostGator. I have used a number of other that I had very poor experiences with including Webhost4life and DiscountAsp. I have found HostGator to be easy to setup, use and get in touch with. Just call them they answer every time.
well i heard bad things about hostgator , so i never used them.. I use HostMonster and NEVER had any problem
I've personally been with HG for the last 3 years, have never had any issues with them, before that I was with Bluehost. If I'm going to get discounted domain names, I don't see why I shouldn't take advantage of that seeing that I'm already a HG customer!.
Totally agreed! If they are cheap I may even move my whole portfolio to them (naturally depending on their domain management interface) as all my hosting is already with thim. I'd like to have all my eggs in one basket now.
Well I don't hear bad things about it at all. One of the best hosts available is hostgator. Godaddy hosting sucks. And I'm tired of godaddy trying to push useless items in my shopping cart whenever I buy a domain.
been with hostgator for about 3 years. no problems with them thus far. i absolutely love their customer support. always available 24/7
If their interface is good and their price competitive, I will definitely transfer away from GD and use them.
Great news as I'm also a Hostgator client for almost 3 years now. Hope they offer a coupon codes like Godaddy too for extra domain names discount. - Dynashox -
Hi Guys I can confirm that Hostgator may start off with $8.00 for new tld registrations and $7.50 .com transfers. Icann fees will be included. Prices will change continuously, depending on demands and may even be lower or a bit higher. There will also be some form of admin panel. But, great news, HG will launch a new product later which will definately start a new domain registration 'war'! No info was given as yet, but I bet its going to be a killer!
Hostgator rocks!! Hope their success in domain registration will be exactly as they achieved in Web Hosting.
