I designed a new website for a non-profit and unfortunately used hostgator. All emails sent to the distribution of mailman that are att.net and pacbell.net keep getting bounced. I have a ticket open now for 3 weeks and hostgator hasn't fixed. How do you get your hosting company to fix issues like this? I think the IP, not domain, is blacklisted a few places, but not really sure if that is the issue. I need help in getting hostgator to fix. 192.185.48.130
What is contained in the bounce message? Do you have SPF and DKIM enabled? http://rbl.att.net/block_inquiry.html http://rbl.att.net/block_enduser.html If they are not responding, did you try their chat support? I believe they have it.
It is blacklisted on a couple of lists - see this blacklist report: mail-blacklist-checker.online-domain-tools.com/link/e53fbgkRFh3NGLDm/ You can ask for delisting, but if the IP address is shared and the other clients do send spam, then even if you achieve delisting, it will be blacklisted again sooner or later. So, you basically have a couple of options here. Besides changing your hosting or letting them fix the problem, you can 1) Purchase your dedicated IP address as Naina S suggested. This usually means some 1-2 USD/month. 2) Use third party mailing service such as Mandrill. There are many services, we use Mandrill, so I have a personal experience with this service and they allow you to send up to 12000 emails per month for free. So unless you need to send more, you can quite simply solve your email sending problems.
