It depends, what kind of site(s) are you planning on hosting with HostGator on a shared plan (monthly visitors and type of content)?

Most feedback from them seems to be positive. For the price it's hard to beat.

One of the best in the industry. very very rare problems with some reasonable things. But very worth for money.

    Best Regards,

Same as above ^^ Hostgator is 150% dependable.

I do not think the server has had any downtime in over 1.5 years.

They also pay for affiliate referrals. :)

Depinds right now. If you have a lots of traffic is possible that hostgator to just "throw out" your site. I see a lots of cases like that.

Can you show all those cases??

If your site uses a lot of server resources then of course the host is going to make you upgrade.

However they do not throw out anything and its misleading of you to post such false information!

unreliable, constant downtime, crappy support.. but cheap and lots of space and bandwith you cant use due to cpu limits.
For example right now my sites are offline due to some "scheduled maintainence"

    I almost love Hostgator, but...

They leave register_globals on by default

((quoting from a PHP related site))
Doesn't this cause huge problems, or extra work for some of you??
