    The shared plans have now new prices, I joined them 2 weeks ago and paid a Swamp plan and it was $14.95 a month, now $12.95 and unlimited bandwidth.

    Also The $6.95 is now $4.95 and the Baby plan at $9.95 is now $7.95.

    There was a 4th plan before but it seems it disappeared.

    So well, I don't know if it has already been posted but hosting prices are now cheaper at HostGator.

    Hello,

    The prices is not cheaper at all! They are just "promoting" the packages in a little better way..

    To get those kind of prices then you have to pre pay 3 years! To pay monthly, then the prices that you have seen before occurs..

    So basicly they are not cheaper, they have just listed the pricing in a different way so it looks cheaper. :)

    You are correct Freddy. IMO HostGator is awesome and worth paying for a couple of years for a lower price. Most hosts offer a lower price for paying for two years but hostgator is the only one I've come across that offers the lower price for three years.

    Hey,

    I don't really think that anyone on DP can answer you this unless they have asked Hostgator or work for them.

    I would advice you to either contact Hostgator trough live support or give them a phone call! I would think that they don't allow 5 TB with bandwidth, as it itself is properbly using alot of resources! But hey, could be wrong :p

    Try and contact them and see what they say.

    Oh I didn't see that. Here is what HostGator said to me after contacting them :
    "The billing changes only apply to 2+ year plans"
    Below is the new pricing structure.

    Hatchling Plan

    * $8.95 (monthly)
    * $83.40 (12 months @ $6.95)
    * $142.80 (24 months @ $5.95)
    * $178.20 (36 months @ $4.95)

    Baby Plan

    * $9.95 (monthly)
    * $214.80 (24 months @ $8.95)
    * $282.20 (36 months @ $7.95)

    Swamp Plan

    * $14.95 (monthly)
    * $334.80 (24 months @ $13.95)
    * $466.20 (36 months @ $12.95)

    About bandwidth :
    "Refering to the upgrade, this will be done in the next one to two months on all accounts."

    Hosting Lizard does. http://hostinglizard.com

    Also, on the price comparison... It is actually less expensive with Hosting Lizard buying an annual plan.

    For instance, our Crested Gecko is $9.95/mo. If you guy it annually it works out to $8.32/mo. compared to paying HostGator 2 years of fees to get a discount of $8.95/mo.

    Our Fat-Tailed Gecko is $14.95/mo., pay annually and it works out to just $12.49/mo. Pay HostGator 3 years of fees, and your discount is only $12.95/mo.

    Pricing and plans are comparable, though we tend to be just a bit lower.

    FYI, there is NO SUCH THING AS UNLIMITED BANDWIDTH PERIOD... NO SUCH THING!!! Any host offering such a claim is full of shit, or has something written in their TOS that defines what they fell is "unlimited".

    Hope this helps.

    Yes, maybe Hosting Lizard is as good as Hostgator when it comes to space and bandwidth... But does Hosting Lizard provide a similar service as Hostgator in support? Dedicated Servers?

    Do you own your own datacenter? Or do you rent servers from Hostgators datacenter? Is your live support and phone online 24/7 ? Can you reply to tickets 5 minutes after they are sent?

    Your company can't really be compared with a company like Hostgator or HostingZoom and so on.

    We own our own data center.
    Hostgator does not.
    We are 7 years older than Hostgator.
    Our services and support is comparable.

    Look, this is not a question of who is better than the other. I've heard great things about Hostgator and have no doubts that they have great service and support.

    I agree. It's apples to oranges.. We've been doing this for over a decade now ;)

    Of course.. That is what "shared" hosting is.... That is why it is cheaper. If you want a dedicated service, you pay more.

    Some over sell more than others...
