I registered my first domain yesterday with hostgator and also set up hosting with them as well. Hostgator said that I need to wait 24-48 hours before my site will be available so in the mean time I have installed some scripts and am preparing content for my site. Now today I try logging in to cPanel and I am unsuccussful everytime. When I try to got to my site myip/~myname I am greeted by this:

Is this normal to happen or I am I doing something wrong. I also recieved an email from hostgator today saying I am required to verify my account. Is this why I am having trouble with my site becuase I haent verified it. Butit was working fine yesterday when it wasnt verified.

And what is involved in verifying my account. If I call the number they provide, what do I need to do.

Your account looks like is has been suspended - maybe because you didn't verify it in a certain amount of time? You just need to call or email support and ask them what you need to do to get your site back up. Generally, they verify by calling the phone number you gave them when you signed up - at least that is if you live in the US.

There are a lot of people who open up an account with a stolen credit card, paypal account, etc., and they just need to verify that you are the owner of the account that funded the hosting.

I just checked my paypal and seems that they have refunded my payment altogether. Could it be because I signed up with a US address but I am actually in South Korea

You have to give them a valid address and phone number. You should contact their support as they can tell you exactly why. They have live chat too.
