What the heck.. this forum would probably go down soon then if the root servers are going down at this rate.
Both the main site and the sites of mine (that use HostGator) seem to be working perfectly fine. I remember getting an e-mail earlier yesterday, though, about an upgrade or something?
I'm not very savvy at all in terms of networking, and I'm assuming that one server would never be able to interfere with other servers within the same network. I mean, would a shared account be able somehow to bring down an entire network? I'm asking this because just before the server s went down we had to redirect the website of the biggest Flower shop in my country to one of our servers at Hostgator because our other dedicated machine went down due to an overload. This meant of course an unusually massive volume of traffic in a very short time to that particular Hostgator machine.
Yes, they're talking from 8th March onwards. It shouldn't involve any down time and there's no explanation why the DNS servers are down as pointed out previously. One of my websites is now partially loaded, just the title but not page elements.
I'm having problems too. I'm unable to access any of my sites on hostgator. They told me my server was down and they were working on it. Said it would be about a half an hour, but that was over an hour ago and my site is still down.
Malmsteen, your site http://www.flashgamesmania.com (ns575.hostgator.com) is up for me in the US. Why is it down everywhere else?
