I purchased a domain and hosting from hostgator.com on Thursday morning. It has been like 60 hours ince I made the purchase. They told me that it would be up in 24-48 hours. My site is still not showin up when you type in my www.com address. Any suggestions or answers as to why it is taking them so long to get my site up?
Have you set up your DNS servers to point to your hostgator hosting account? If you have, you can try clearing your DNS cache so you won't have to wait as long: http://www.windowsitpro.com/article...an-i-view-and-clear-my-dns-cache-content.html I recommended first closing your internet browsers because they may have their own temporary cache, then follow the short instruction above, then restart your PC and hopefully you will be able to get to see your domain.
Sometimes it takes longer for a new domain to propagate throughout the internet. Normally, for other hosting providers, it can take up to 72 hours.
