So I haven't designed a site in quite some time(I have photoshop/Illustrator 7 and Dreamweaver 4!!) I don't even know if blogs were around back then!

I want my homepage to look like a regular page, but a blog. Where I can have links to other parts of the site, adsense, blah blah blah on the left part of the page and across the top and blog stuff on the right.

I, somehow, from hostgator downloaded wordpress..it's ugly and blue and white. Have no idea if I can even customize it with my header/logo.

    I'm lost!

and to be quite honest, and fully aware that this may be against forum policy..but when you are desperate and frustrated, gotta throw it out there! didn't see anything in "read this first" before posting part, truly sorry if I'm breaking the rules..I can delete post! .....anyone REALLY wishing to help me personally...if you want to barter I will be your personal Tarot reader for help. Because obviously I'm not getting too many readings without my sites up!!

    thanks

With WordPress, you can get millions of free themes that you may like the look and feel of (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/) or you can create your own theme.

If you need help creating a custom theme, email at contact@robicowebsolutions.com

Yes, you need to find a theme. While there are tons of free themes at the link given above, it will take you a month of Sundays to wade through them.

I recommend going to a site like Smashing Magazine and looking for their best magazine or corporate style WordPress themes.

    WordPress is almost infinitely customisable.

You can get new themes for free, and you can cusotmize them yourself once you've learned CSS - it might take a while to get used to how things work, but once you get the hang of it you'll love the possibilities!
