Hostgator affiliate program - any success or feedback?

    Hi

I am a new person to Digital Point, but I would appreciate some feedback, if anyone has any, on HostGator?

I joined them in May, and have sent them a ton of traffic. I now have a large amount of commissions outstanding, and their payment terms are slightly confusing. From what I can tell, the payments are made basically 2 months in arrears - so the May commissions will be paid at the end of this month (July).

I have also read a lot of things about lots of chargebacks etc - any ideas if the reporting system is accurate on this - I mean about 90% of the sales we have made say 'Active', with only a few reading 'duplicate' 'cancelled' or 'fraud'. Is this usually accurate?

Finally - are they relaible with payments? I am sending the traffic through their in house affiliate program...

Any feedback or responses would be really helpful. It would be good to hear from people having success with Clickbank.

    Thanks
    Dave

HostGator is so big they don't have time to be "unreliable" or do anything to spoil their reputation. They're great to use if you have offline marketing clients as you can do free service for your client with the stipulation that they sign up for HG. I don't use them personally (as an affiliate - I do as a user), but I know several people who do.

I don't know anyone who's ever had a serious problem with them. Their customer service is actually great.

As far as accuracy of statistics, you'd have to ask someone else.

Hope I helped a little, at least.

    Hi

    Thanks for the fast feedback

Sadly I was (still am to a certain degree) a casino affiliate, so the whole 'its a big company so it must be legit' has worn a little thin based on past experiences!

Maybe its just that industry thats tainted my experiences, but still, regardless of the size of a site and company it really doesn't prove that they are in anyway legit :(

Thanks though - the fact that its good feedback is helpful!

    Cheers
    Dave

    Dave,

I get where you're coming from. Enron didn't exactly "set the standard" either...

If you send them quality traffic, they will pay. If you send them junk where users don't continue their subscription past at least 3 months, you won't get paid.

Just google "hostgator affiliate scam" and you will see some horror stories.
