Does hostgator still pay $100 on 3 months sale of hosting with coupon ? I had sold 1-2 and also purchased 1 from self and it is not showing up in the balance from last 2 days. Any ideas?

I stay away from those poor affiliates. HosGator's hosting plans are around $7.95 a month. What makes you think that'll pay their affiliates over $100.00 just for referering people to sign up. I don't trust their affiliate program. They have a LIVE CHAT on their site and you can talk to one of the agents.

Did you place your order through their "cart" or with PayPal? To my knowledge, you won't earn commission if someone purchases a plan using PayPal.

I have affiliate sales trickle in every now and again with hostgator. But I dont think you can use your affiliate link for yourself. I tried it and it got reversed.

I've been paid from them 3 months ago, but HostGator has been removed from my top 10 list. Reason? They are 100% extend commission plus their reversal rate is too high. I've made many sales for them but 60-80% are reversed, they will let you know after extended period only and that pissed me off. If those commission are already reversed then they shouldn't extend for another next month period before let me know. I'm also suspect for their honest too. They didn't reply me with proper answer when I asked for reversal transactions. The most reasons they replied are - credit card fraud / transaction fraud / stolen credit card. I wonder if they never check credit card before letting transaction finished.

I believe when HostGator first setup their affiliate system, there was something they did which made alot of affiliates mad. I can't remember what it is now, but it was on one of the old forums possibly digital point however I think it was another.

I hate the way the hosting affiliate system works.

I think that's how HG makes money...by reversing legit sales! I am almost 99% sure this is it.

Also, they have their own aff program and the program is on CJ too so if you get a legit sale using CJ they will reverse it and when you complain about it they will ask you why did you use CJ tracking and not the in house tracking....hummm cant you see why they offer their aff on CJ too? Is to blame you or CJ tracking system and stay with the sale, no money for you!

There is a thread here somewhere that is about HG not honoring sales that came from CJ and blaming the affiliate for using CJ and not them can you believe it, I read it couple of days ago...

Actually, Hostgator reverses the extended commission if the sale does not extend 3 months of hosting as they provide 100% refund, they are scared if we will take the commission and ask for a full refund, so I normally ask people to use it for 3 months or so, and I have the $100

I just had a live chat with the customer service.
    I find it suspicious....
You can see a screenshot of the chat here: http:// img368.imageshack.us/my.php?image=chatwindowjc2.png

I do NOT recommend to affiliate with them!

So it appears that you're complaining about the CSR you've talked to for not answering your question? There are policies for a reason and you must not understand them to well. Due to you posting a screenshot of a conversation in which you are completely not understanding and trying to make someone else seem bad, you have just made yourself look dumb.

    Why dumb?

I just ask a simple question and for that they behave so suspicious.

The live chat staff are NOT PERMITTED to answer affiliate related questions. It's simple. Do you still not understand?

I sometimes wonder how support staff can remain so polite.

I have only heard good things about Host Gator's affiliate program. I wish my current hosting affiliate paid online, they are still only doing paper checks. Oh well, at least no fees.

    You wonder?
Thats because they are trained for that....
The reason why i became not polite anymore is that he let me wait for ages...
I made a report for him already by the management from Hostgator.

Its just strange that if i have a simple question (the question you can read in the livechat) BEFORE i become an affiliate, then they are NOT ALLOWED to talk about it.
    Thats suspicious...
