Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a hosted google web browser? What I am trying to achieve is a way for me to login to any web browser on any computer and all my settings, bookmarks, addon etc.. will be there. So should I be traveling I will have everything there on any computer. I guess what I am wondering if there is a hosted browser. Rather than using my google browser on my computer, I would only use it to login to some online browser and then be on the internet. Thank for any replies.
need not be hosted but any desktop browser with web enabled (not web based means hosted) can do that i feel
I understand, but what I mean is lets say I am at a friends house and need to use their computer. Is there an online browser where I can login to and then all my settings are there, the same as what I use at home. That is what I mean.
I have a laptop actually. What I am really trying to accomplish is avoiding the daunting task of when I buy a new one. I buy a new one every year and would like to be able to login somewhere just like email, except to a web browser and everything is there! Perhaps we should invent such a browser if none exists! We can make millions, lol.
I think there is a firefox plugin that does something like that, but the only problem with that is that you need to have the plugin on all computers so they can synchronize.. If all you are looking for is an online place to store bookmarks, then you could try mister wong (they can be kept private) or some other social bookmark place. An even better way would be to backup your bookmarks to a html file and then email it to your gmail account, then label it, and archive it. Google does have some sort of bookmark manager, but I have not used it so I am unsure if it is what you are after, you can get it at http://www.google.com/bookmarks/ if you want to have a play.. hope that helps..
