Hostdime: I do not recommend them; Slow servers, always buggy webhosting.

I am getting out of a 6 month ordeal with hostdime and going back to hostgator. I didn't know how slow the servers over at hostdime were until I switched back to hostgator. My sites are flying now that I am with hostgator!

    My problems with hostdime.

    1) I couldn't download more then 200 files before the system shut me out for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Yes, this might be security, but it gets pissy when you have 50 sites with lots of files and you want to work with them.

    2) If I saved a file more the X times in X amount of time it would lock me out for 5-10 minutes at a time. (I never figured out what X and X were, but it was annoying when I was working on a website and doing edits)

2a) Noticed that saving a file to the server also was slow going. Took around 5-10 seconds through pspad, when I was editting a php/html file. Which normally only should take 1 second, but with hostdime it took long.

    3) They did a php upgrade and mest up the mime types. So, it was allowing people to download the php source. Which means they could get my passwords to mysql, admin panels, and files themself.
---This sucked because I code php professionally and people viewing my demo could download my php code without buying.

    4) The above happened and it was there fault. It took a whole day to correct. I lost $300 in profits for the day. I didn't get an I am sorry or would you like a refund for the month. Nothing, just a smuge tech support person saying. Okay, I fixed it now.

    5) php memory post size isn't configured correctly. It wouldn't allow phpBB even to post a message on the forum. WTF??!?! This happen cause of a faulty php upgrade they did.

    6) The SPEED of the servers suck. I was with them for 6 months and didn't know any better. After the php thing happened I finally decided to go back to hostgator and damn my sites are very fast loading now compared to what they were doing with hostdime.

    7) I orginally switched over to hostdime, because I needed reseller separate site type of thing and hostgator was expensive. Which was nice of hostdime, but I found out it was harder to admin the sites like that. (This isn't bad just think shared is fine now).

    8) I was looking at the server settings and the main memory for the server was always out or close to be out 11409 bytes left and the swap memory was very high too. Looking at it. It didn't go above 75000 free bytes for the server memory. I don't know if this is bad, but shucks might have made things bad.

    9) The hostdime payment system had bugs in it. The helpdesk wouldn't take a log in. You had to go through the invoice login screen to get help. I just found this annoying.

    10) I originally with reseller hosting. When I first started they set-up my DNS wrong and it wouldn't resolve. This is even after 1 week. It took another two days until they fixed it for me. Even then doing a DNS tests at different websites. The websites said it was set-up wrong. I just let it go though.

I would say hostdime is 3 out of 10 stars. I wouldn't host at hostdime ever again.

I am posting this here in hopes that if someone looks for reivews this post will be pulled up and they will see what my experiences with hostdime was.
